The UCLA Transgender support group meets this quarter every Thursday from 6:30pm-8:00pm. The group is open to trans-people of all types and their friends and family who are students or staff from any University.
Also GLBT Mentors Needed
Dear UCLA regularly enrolled students:
If you have worked through your own coming out process and have developed a positive GLBT identity and you want to help other GLBT people who are coming to terms with their orientation, mentoring may be for you.
This is an opportunity to participate in a worthwhile program. You can make a positive difference in someone else's life. Support someone else through the coming out process and you will feel better yourself. What kind of time commitments are involved? To be a mentor, you must to complete 30 hrs. of training. After that you would meet consistently with your mentee for around an hour every week or two. Further, you would be required to attend supervision meetings, every other week.
If this is of interest to you, simply contact Dr. Keating at mentors@ucla.edu or by phone at (310) 825-0768 to arrange for an interview.
Cordially, Dr. Keating

It will be a loose, "rap" style gathering that offers transmen and others a chance to network, socialize, access resources, and get updates on current female-to-male transsexual/transgender community activities and information.
It will try to focus primarily on transmen/post transition issues though, as a group in Los Angeles will be centering on "beginner's" issues and needs. Although it is focused on transmen, it will be a fully inclusive atmosphere with anyone of any sort of female-bodied, masculine-identification invited to attend.
Family and significant others are welcome. Some sessions may be somewhat restricted however, based on the needs of those in the group and the subject matter of the evening. Adults only. A "SOFFA" meeting simultaneously would be great if interest exists.
We meet the 4th Sunday night of each month at 5:00 PM. There is no charge but donations are appreciated.
Meeting is at:
12800 Garden Grove Blvd, suite F Phone number (714) 534-0862 (714) 534-0990 ex 340 for OCFTM's voice mail box. This new facility is located right next door (east) to the previous building.
