NATIONWIDE ALERT ON INJECTABLE DRUGS PREPARED BY URGENT CARE PHARMACY
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing a nationwide alert concerning all injectable drugs prepared by Urgent Care Pharmacy of Spartanburg, South Carolina, based on the lack of assurance that their products are sterile. Non-sterility of injectable products can represent a serious hazard to health that could lead to life-threatening injuries and death. FDA inspection of Urgent Care's facility revealed the firm failed to have adequate controls to ensure necessary sterility, including the absence of appropriate testing for potency and sterility prior to distribution.
On September 16, 2002, Urgent Care recalled all lots of its injectable methylprednisolone acetate based on reports of four patients who developed a rare fungal (wangiella) meningitis (a life threatening infection of the lining of the brain and spinal cord) after use of their product. These patients were treated at three different North Carolina hospitals/clinics. Spinal fluid from all of these patients tested positive for a fungus consistent with that found in the Urgent Care product analyzed by both the FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). One patient later died despite antifungal therapy.
Urgent Care has refused to voluntarily recall any other injectable products they prepared and refused to provide FDA with a complete list of products they distributed. FDA is working to identify the recipients of these products so that the agency can directly alert them to the serious risks involved. FDA is continuing to work with the Centers for Disease Control, along with officials from both North Carolina and South Carolina, and will take whatever additional action is needed.
In the meantime, the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy has issued a Cease and Desist order to halt further sale of products from Urgent Care.
At the present time, based on limited information, FDA is aware that Urgent Care has distributed the following injectable drugs to physicians, hospitals, clinics and consumers in Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia:
Baclofen
Betamethasone
Bimix 30:1 (Phentolamine mesylate/papaverine)
Clonidine
Estradiol
Hydromorphone HCl
Fentanyl
Methylprednisolone acetate
Morphine Sulfate/Bupivacaine
Papaverine HCl
Super Trimix (Papaverine HCl/phentolamine mesylate/prostaglandin)
Testosterone cypionate
Testosterone/EstradiolUrgent Care injectables are labeled as URGENT CARE PHARMACY, 2500WINCHESTER PLACE , STE. 106, SPARTANBURG, SC 29301, 800-692-8982.
Consumers, physicians, and health care workers are urged to examine their drug supplies for any Urgent Care injectable products and immediately discontinue their use. Users should also notify FDA of any complaints or problems associated with these products.

Below you will find the original posting on a couple who are ministering to the Transgender Community. The name of the Ministry is "El Shaddai Resurrection". They are from the Dream Center is Los Angeles, CA.
On Monday, November 19th, I talked with Pamela about the Transgender Ministry that she and her husband are offering.
The ministry that Pamela and her husband feel called by God to provide is for transgender persons wishing to return to their sex at birth.
The residence house that they provide is called the Discipleship House, and is only open to those who wish to return to their assigned sex. The program consists of daily study of the Bible and being called by their name assigned at birth. Currently two transgender persons are in their program. Pamela, is outreaching for this Ministry by attending transgender events in the community.
Pamela cited Deuteronomy 22.5 and said the correct translation of "A woman shall not wear a man's apparel, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment; for whoever does such things is abhorrent to the Lord your God"; was "A woman shall not pretend to be a man, nor shall a man pretend to be a woman...".
As the "Transgender Menace Southern California", I can not support this Ministry.

My name is Pamela and my husband and I have a Christian non-profit organization here in Hollywood, California for the transgender community.
We work with transsexual prostitutes, runaways, drug addicts and those in prison as well as transgender business professionals and intersexed individuals.
We are currently working towards obtaining a residence that can house transgenders with life-controlling problems. The residence will be a Christian discipleship home that will offer counseling, job and living skills in a caring environment.This will be especially beneficial to those caught in a vicious cycle of drug addiction and survival sex, as well as those being released from prison.
Until the residence is available we currently offer many services all of which are free and available both to those locally and around the world.
Services such as on-line counseling, prayer, support and in depth correspondence courses on the Word of God. These courses come complete with questions, tests and answers designed to enable one to study at their own pace and grade themselves as well as memorize scripture. These courses are in simple English for most anyone to be able to understand the text.
We supply emergency food and clothes and toiletries to transgenders in the Hollywood area. We distribute such out of our church bus on Saturday mornings at 11:00 - 3:00 on McCadden Place in Hollywood between the Village and Benitos Tacos.
We also provide emergency food and clothes, Bibles and other Christian literature to transgenders in impoverished situations all over the world.
We will be meeting with the founder of a prostitution ministry in Bangkok later this month in an effort to rally assistance for transgender prostitutes in the Thailand area.

It is a very rare circumstance, indeed, that I would speak poorly of individuals within the queer community. However, I feel that the danger posed by these two individuals to the transgender community warrants some attention.
Jim Fouratt and Alix Dobkin have joined together, following the trans -inclusive NGLTF Creating Change Conference in Oakland, to promote anti-trans sentiment both within and outside of the queer community.
Currently, Alix Dobkin (who resides in the Bay Area) is trying to get FTMs to talk with her, under the guise of "trying to understand transgenderism." However, many of her recent articles have not only challenged a FTM's right to identify as transgender, but have also erased the identities of the FTMs she has interviewed by calling them "butch dykes" and "masculine women." In the following article by Jim Fouratt, you will see that he also writes from an anti-trans perspective. Calpernia Addams, the partner of murdered PFC Barry Winchell, has expressed numerous times that she identifies first as a woman, second as a transwoman, but *NEVER* as a gay man. Moreover, his treatment of Brandon Teena's story as the "the poster girl of the reparative therapy movement (aka transgendered)" is, well, unbelievable.
I have personally been contacted by Alix on a number of occassions, both during and following the Creating Change Conference. I waited to see what she wrote about the transgender community (and FTMs in particular) before I engaged in any form of dialogue with her. Suffice it to say, what she has written (both to me, to other transgender people & SOFFAs with whom I've been in contact, and in her 'Minstral Blood' column) has been offensive, innaccurrate, and ignorant.
I urge those who have been contacted, either by Alix or by Jim, to refuse to participate in any form of dialogue with either of them. Their intentions are not benign! They are *NOT* trying to understand the transgender experience. They are instead trying to malign transgender community and forge a split between transgender individuals and the rest of the queer community. Please refuse to participate in their anti-trans project. -

The following note, by Jim Fouratt, has finally begun to be forwarded to concerned individuals in the LGBT and queer communities. It is always sad to see someone as well known as Jim denigrating how others express their identities and singling them out for abuse. It is equally sad to see him utilizing such a dated, frightening and divisive rhetoric such as the one that had been proposed by other transphobes, including Janice Raymond, over 20 years ago. In fact his attack sounds surprisingly similar to that currently utilized by anti-choice, anti-feminist and anti-gay groups against women and the LGBT/queer communities. Murdered because he was perceived to be gay, Barry Winchell deserves all our grief and anger. As do his loved ones including a gender variant gayman self named Calpernia Sarah Addams, a professional gender illusionist.
All around us we see these attacks on gaymen who do not conform to some kind of Tom of Finland or Andrew Sullivan image, What is new is we now see gay academics and pop journalists embracing this new push to make gaymen and lesbians straight by leading them to endure painful physical body manipulation and dangerous hormonal injects to take on the topography of the conventional definition of what is male and what is female. Modern medicine is once again trying to cure us of our desire for same sex love.
Our gender variant gay and lesbian population is under intense pressure to deny their homosexuality and to take all physical, hormonal and emotional steps in order to be accepted into heterosexual society.
First we had Boys Don't Cry which told the horrific story of a 19 year old baby butch lesbian who was first raped and than murdered because she had the audacity to role play and act on her desire to love and have sex with women. In death Brandon Teen became the poster girl of the reparative therapy movement (aka transgendered) for adult gender variant gaymen and women and in this guise was deemed acceptable frirst to Hollywood and than to a larger straight audience.
We are familuar with the smarmy tabloid journalism of gaywriter David France. Who could forget his bizarre book on Andrew Crispo? But does the New York Times need to sink to the level of the National Inquirer doing a Talk-ish sex/celebrity/death feature? I would hope not.
The Barry Winchell story needs to be told. How homophobia both external and more importantly internally puts at risk most homosexuals and lesbains and all gender variant individuals, How the rush to gender reassign through the wonders of modern medicine has ultimately failed ... where in the sensational picture of a professional skin strutter was there any reference to the 30 year John Hopkins study of sexual reassignment and how ultimately it did not improve the self image or well being of the subjects in their program. The results of this study caused John Hopkins to cease sexual reassignment as a solution to gender dysfunction. Or where is the information on how most transsexuals who are not closeted have very few job options other than in the adult entertainment and/or sex industry...Wendy Carlos and Dr. Renee Richard's are the exceptions.
The Imperial Court can be a powerful voice in confronting the solutions that are now being promoted by mainstream publications like the New Times and by the toxic, anti-gay/lesbian "queer" academics. Neither group is a friend of the Cherry Grove and/or Court community, Why can't Calpernia Sarah Addams dress, act and be himself as a gaymen, The Court sets a powerful role model of how to be who ever you want to be and to be true to your gay male identity. After all, this construction of 'women" is totally informed by gaymale sensibility and has little in reality to do with the essence of being female.
Speak up. Help those gender variant gaymen and women who are under siege to save their pennies to mutilate their bodies to gain acceptance into the heterosexual society.
Would be most interesting in hearing each of your response to this increasingly serious attack on who we are and how we live.
